How do I get y by itself? -y-x-1=0

add 1 to the 0 so it's -y-x=1
then add x to zero so it's -y=1+x or y= -1-x :) Hope that helps

If we want to isolate y, we can just simply add both sides by y.
After doing that, you get the following:


-y+y-x-1=y

The two y's on the left side cancel each other out, so we are left with the following equation


-x-1=y

Now, we have y isolated on the right side. I hope this helps! :)
