Maggie is having the flooring replaced in her kitchen, living room, and master bedroom.

The kitchen is getting slate tile. The tile cost $1.73 per-square-foot plus an installation fee per-square-foot. The area of the kitchen is 120 square feet, and the total cost for the flooring with installation comes to $740.40.
The living room is getting hand-scraped hardwood flooring. The hardwood cost $4.98 per-square-foot plus an installation fee per-square-foot. The area of the living room is 200 square feet, and the total cost for the flooring with installation comes to $1,688.00.
The master bedroom is getting berber carpet. The carpet cost $2.48 per-square-foot plus an installation fee per-square-foot. The area of the master bedroom is 180 square feet, and the total cost for the flooring with installation comes to $928.80.
Place the flooring type in order from the least amount to the greatest amount of cost to install per-square-foot.

We are given three cases

Case-A: The kitchen

Let's assume install cost per-square-foot is x

The tile cost $1.73 per-square-foot plus an installation fee per-square-foot

so, the tile cost per square foot =1.73+x

The area of the kitchen is 120 square feet

so, total cost = the tile cost per square foot*area of kitchen

total cost
=(1.73+x)*120

we have total cost =740.40

we can set equal

740.40=(1.73+x)*120

now, we can solve for x

1.73+x=6.17

x=4.44

so, the cost of install of kitchen per-square-foot is $4.44

Case-B: Living room

Let's assume install cost per-square-foot is x

The hardwood cost $4.98 per-square-foot plus an installation fee per-square-foot

so, the tile cost per square foot =4.98+x

The area of the living room is 200 square feet

so, total cost = the hardwood cost per square foot*area of living room

total cost
=(4.98+x)*200

we have total cost =1688

we can set equal

1688=(4.98+x)*200

now, we can solve for x

4.98+x=(211)/(25)

x=3.46

so, the cost of install of living room per-square-foot is $3.46

Case-C: Master Bedroom

Let's assume install cost per-square-foot is x

The carpet cost $2.48 per-square-foot plus an installation fee per-square-foot

so, the carpet cost per square foot =2.48+x

The area of the master bedroom is 180 square feet

so, total cost = the carpet cost per square foot*area of master bedroom

total cost
=(2.48+x)*180

we have total cost =928.80

we can set equal

928.80=(2.48+x)*180

now, we can solve for x

2.48+x=5.16

x=2.68

so, the cost of install of master bedroom per-square-foot is $2.68

so, we get different installation costs as

(1) so, the cost of install of kitchen per-square-foot is $4.44

(2) the cost of install of living room per-square-foot is $3.46

(3) the cost of install of master bedroom per-square-foot is $2.68

now, we have to arrange from least to greatest

so, arrangement will be

Master bedroom , Living room , kitchen..........Answer
