One of the most important hormone would be the Growth hormone shortened as GH. This hormone is necessary in the first years of life in order to maintain a healthy body composition, especially for growth. Found in excess or in deficiency may cause really important disorders. In childhood the excess of GH can cause excessive growth, traditionally referred to as the pituitary gigantism and at adults it is called acromegaly and its common symptoms are the thickening of the bones of the jaw, fingers and toes.Major manifestations of GH deficiency in children are the growth failure, the development of a short stature, and delayed sexual maturity. So the people suffering from GH deficiency will be short but they will be mentally normal. In this case, only the physical aspect will be affected.
