AD/ 4.5 = 4/5
AD = 4(4.5) / 5
AD = 3.6

AD = 3.6

Here BD is the angle bisector , so we have

∠ABD =∠CBD

now comparing the ratios , we have

(AD)/(4.5) = (4)/(5)

Now we can multiply 4.5 on the right hand side , to get the value of AD,

AD = (4)/(5) * 4.5

So this gives AD =3.6
