Plug in y=3x-24
5x-(3x-24)=28 combine your x
2x+24=28
Subtract2x=4
Divide x=2
Plugin to y equation
Y= 3(2)-24
Y=-18

y=3x-24
x=8+y/3 for y and x=y/5+28/5 for x
5x-y=28
x=y/5+28/5 for x and x= 8+ y/3 for y
