So to set this problem up lets understand it.
each percent is out of a whole (100%)
so the whole in this problem is 450 pounds
and to make 44% a usable number we move the percent sign two places over.
.44
to find out how many times .44 goes into 450 pounds we will multiply
(.44×450)=198 pounds
we can check our answer by dividing 198÷450
and getting .44 as our answer
