you would add 4 to both sides thus the 4 on the right cancels out and on the left you are left with 6
then you divide by 3 on both sides and on the right the G cancels out and on the left you are left with 2 once more

Solve for g:
2 = 3 g - 4
2 = 3 g - 4 is equivalent to 3 g - 4 = 2:
3 g - 4 = 2
Add 4 to both sides:
3 g + (4 - 4) = 4 + 2
4 - 4 = 0:
3 g = 2 + 4
2 + 4 = 6:
3 g = 6
Divide both sides of 3 g = 6 by 3:
(3 g)/3 = 6/3
3/3 = 1:
g = 6/3
The gcd of 6 and 3 is 3, so 6/3 = (3×2)/(3×1) = 3/3×2 = 2:
Answer: g = 2
