A variable is a characteristic or attribute of a subject that can assume different values. Variables can be classified to many forms including nominal, ordinal, discrete and continuous variables among others. Discrete variables are variables that assume values that can be counted while continuous variables assumes an infinite number of values in an interval between any two specific values.
