For this one I'm not sure the best method but I find it easiest to use guess and check. Go through each answer and multiply it out. use the FOIL method shown in the picture. Multiply the first two in the parenthesis, F. Then the outer two, O. Then the inner two, I. Then the last two, L.

The idea is to group up the terms into two groups, factor each group and then factor out the overall GCF

2x+16+xy+8y
(2x+16)+(xy+8y)
2(x+8)+(xy+8y)
2(x+8)+y(x+8)
(2+y)(x+8)
(x+8)(2+y)

Answer: Choice A
