Four houses have been built along the banks of a small lake. Unfortunately for the homeowners, a new dam will slowly raise he level of the lake. In what order will he houses be flooded?

The height from the level of the lake water will determine the order of the flooding. As the level of the lake rises, it will rise evenly along all shores, so the house that is at the lowest level will begin to flood first. As the water rises, it will fill the houses in the order of lowest, or closest to the water level, to the highest, or the one with the most distance from the original water level.
