Suppose that a surface impoundment site for hazardous waste is planned for your community. would you oppose locating the site in your community?

I believe surface impoundment is one of the legal waste management unit for hazardous material.
That being said I would be initially concerned if one will be located in my community and naturally will oppose its possible location to my community. But given that it is a know legal way of waste management, I will require that my concern and opposition be met by concrete plans with proper construction, installation , monitoring and regulations of the impoundments facilities.

I will vehemently oppose the location of any surface impoundment site in my community.
Hazardous wastes are not meant to be disposed in a community setting, such wastes should be taken to isolated locations that are not inhabited by any human. This is because hazardous wastes can have very dangerous effects on the health of the people that are living in a community. Such effects include: various kind of disease conditions, miscarriages, birth defects, blurred vision, dizziness, still births, etc.
