During the ratification debate, federalists were those who supported the adoption of the constitution while anti-federalists were those who fought against its adoption

This is true. Anti-federalists opposed the Constitution because they thought it would take away basic rights and liberties such as freedom of speech. The Anti-federalists also felt that the Constitution would make state governments weak and make the federal government to powerful, which would leave citizens defenseless against them.
