Find an equation for the line that passes through the point (2, -5) and is parallel to the line 2x - 4y = 3

parallel lines have the same slopes so first move the equation into slope-int form then use the given point with the slope to make a new equation
2x-3=4y
1/2x-3/4=y
1/2 is the slope

y+5=1/2(x-2)
above i plugged into point slope form
