Answer: 12

Explanation:

We know that , the ceiling function y = [x] is also known as the least integer function that gives the smallest integer greater than or equal to x.

For example : For x= 1.5

y = [1.5] =2

For x= 3.64

y = ⌊3.64⌋=4

The given function :
f(x)=3[x-2]

Then, for x= 5.9 , we have

f(5.9)=3[5.9-2]\\\\ f(5.9)=3[3.9]\\\\ f(5.9)=3(4)=12 [since [3.9]=4 (least integer function)]

Therefore, the value of f(5.9) is 12
