Hello,

Well, Amendment V protects the right of private property. The amendment does so in, I believe, two ways. The fifth amendment of the Constitution states that "No person shall be . . . deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation." I am positive this goes along with the Taking Clause; a constitutional safeguard for property.
