The only definitive diagnostic test for Alzheimer’s disease is by examining the characteristic of plaques and tangle of brain tissue through microscopic examination after death of a patient. At present, there is no specific test that can confirm Alzheimer’s disease. The judgement of doctors is just based on a person’s cause of symptoms and the results from various test that can help clarify the diagnosis.
