The listed price of an article = $50

The sales tax rate = 3%

We have to find the sales tax in dollars, in this article.

Sales tax rate = 3% of $50

When we remove percentage sign, we divide that number by 100, so we get

Sales tax rate =
(3)/(100) of $50

=
(3)/(100) * 50

=
(150)/(100)

=$1.5

Therefore, the sales tax rate in this article is $1.5
