she needs $5.42 more to buy the 5 pen and 3 notebooks and how i got this was simple so i did
$2.45×5=$12.45
then i did
$4.39×3=$13.17
then i added all up and got $25.42
i hopes this actually helps you

5 * 2.45= 12.25
3 * 4.39= 13.17
13.17+12.25= 25.42
25.42-20.00= 5.42
Evelyn needs 5 dollars and 42 cents more
