3) The football team needs to buy Gatorade for Saturday's big game. They have two options. The first option is they can buy

it pre-made in 48 ounce bottles for $3.84 for each bottle. Or they can buy packets and mix with water. Each packet makes
64 ounces and will cost $4.80.
a) Find the cost per ounce of each.
b) Which size costs less?
c) The team will need to buy 192 ounces of Gatorade. How much do you save using the choice from answer b?

I’m so tired, I can’t do school anymore. Please help.

Answer:

a answer: so to solve this you need to find the unit rates. you can do this by doing division.

for premade: 3.84/48 = 0.08 per bottle

for mix with water packets: 4.80/64 = 0.075 per ounce

b answer: so to solve this just compare the numbers and see which one is less in value

the mix with water packets is cheaper because 0.075 is less than 0.08

c answer: so since the packets are cheaper, you will multiply 192 x 0.075 to get to price

192 x 0.075 = 14.40

part c also says to figure out how much you are saving, so you need to find the price if you went with the premade and then compare

192 x 0.08 = 15.36

15.36 - 14.40 = 0.96

So you save 96 cents

a) 48 ounces for $3.84 each = $184.32 total
($92.16 per 24 ounces)
a) 64 ounces for $4.80 each = $307.20 total
($102.40 per 24 ounces)

b) the 48 ounce bottles costs less because they only cost $92.16 per oz, whereas the 64 ounce bottles cost $102.40 per 24 oz

(48 ounces) 192 / 24 = 8 * $92.16 = $737.28
(64 ounces of 192 / 24 = 8 * $102.40 = $819.20
$819.20 - $737.28 = $81.92

c) you save $81.92 when using the 48 ounce bottles choice
