A society, is considered as patriarchal if a certain gender hold the most dominant status over the other. In roman society, the women in the household are required to be completely obedient to the men of the household. The men even had the right to impose punishment to the wives if they displeased the men.

8. B . The republic had become an empire.

Not long after taking the power, Augustus created Constitutional reforms of Augustus. These reforms take the power from the representatives and make Augustus rise up as the supreme leader in roman society. This marked the end of roman republic and marked the beginning of Roman empire.

The women in roman society were banned from leaving the household without the permission of the husband. Their main duty involved managing how the chores being done in the household (if the women were nobles, they had the right to give orders to the servants) and to take care and give education to the children.

The way we manage our government today implement some of the characteristics of the roman government. The roman government was also known to separate their executive and legislative part of their government so they can maintain checks and balance by limiting each other's influence.
