Explanation:

(f - g)(x) = f(x) - g(x)

= - x² + 6x - 1 - (3x² - 4x - 1) ← distribute

= - x² + 6x - 1 - 3x² + 4x + 1 ( collect like terms )

= - 4x² + 10x
