Write about a psychological test that may have once been used extensively, but has been proven to be biased against or in favor of certain groups.

Tests that could be considered Biases are IQ tests, because everyone has different backgrounds including, heritage and where they grew up(good environment vs poor environment) and those could determine their score or knowledge. On average 70% of your IQ is inherited so the other 30% comes from your environment, who you were raised, friends you had or basically anything that has greatly affected your life. Studies were conducted that there are some biased IQ tests and that they are always changing, but not that there are and racially biased IQ tests.

A test was conducted with 45 nursing students and 45 psychology students and were compared to determine social stereotypes or weight basis. A significant bias was showed towards overweight individuals in both groups of students, a stronger weight baised was shown then when the target comparison was male and female, the conclusions of the study were that they had expanded the understanding of the implicit attitudes and social biases of nursing and psychology students and that the views made by these future health care professionals may negatively affect the care of their patients.

An answer/example might be gay conversion therapy. Back then, asylums used to use electroshock, hypnosis, and sometimes even drugs to try and convert gays into straights. They were biased against the LGBT+ community back then. They used to do that all the time on anyone who seemed remotely part of the community, and there is still reasearch that show that this still might be happening which is horrible.
