Hey there! A metaphor is a figure of speech that makes a comparison without using the word like or as and a simile is a better type of metaphor, in which a sentence uses like or as. They Both compare to things like exaggerating objects. They are different, but the same on some stuff.

Both similes and metaphors are literary techniques used to compare two different things; however, they do so differently. A simile is a comparison that uses "like" or "as" in the comparison. A metaphor is a comparison that says something is something else.
