The y-intercept of the exponential function is - 2 less than - the y-intercept of the linear function.

Each time in the table the output has 4 more than the previous output, so just subtract 8 from the from the 20 output to find out that the y-intercept is 12.

The y-intercept is represented on the graph at the point where y=0 which is 10 by the way.

10 is 2 less than 12.
