Only C can be eliminated. The 4 does not effect the minus one. The answer is going to be is going to have a positive y.

A is not correct. The 4 is a power and does not effect anything but the y. The 1 remains -1

B is not correct. The power on the y does not multiply by - 1. The power only effects the y.

C is probably the second best answer, but it is still incorrect. -1 remains as minus 1.

D that leaves D. The minus 1 stays as minus 1. It does not have to be written in the answer. The minus does however. The -4 brings the answer up to the denominator, (the top) as it is shown. So the answer is

-y^4
