(2x+1)(x+3)

Multiply 2x with (x + 3)
So (2x・x)= 2x^2
(2x・3)= 6x

And do the same with 1
(1・x)=x
(1・3)=3

So that leaves 2x^2 + 6x + x + 3
Then you combine like terms which leaves the answer 2x^2 + 7x + 3
