You go Christmas shopping at the mall. You buy a sweater for your mom for $22.99, a book for your dad for $12.75, and toy cars for your cousins that cost $4.50 each. Write and SIMPLIFY an algebraic EXPRESSION to represent your purchases. (Let x = the amount of toy cars.)

Answer:

$22.99 + $12.75 + x($4.50)

Explanation:

since you do not know how many cousins you are buying cars that is the variable. and to find the total ammount you spend onthe the cars you would muliply the variable with the price of the car.
