The collective anonymous has mounted a wide range of disruptive events that have often shut down industries and parts of government. a sociologist would be unlikely to call this effort a revolution because the collective:

The reason why sociologists wouldn't consider Anonymous' actions as revolutionary, is because their aim have never been to cause social, economical or political changes. They are not a closed group of people fighting for the same ideas, they may have similar principles, but this doesn't mean that they are organized. A revolution is made by people who agree the same, need the same and want to cause an abrupt change in the government.
