6. Wyatt's room is a rectangle with perimeter of 40 feet. The width of the room is 8 feet. What is the length of the room?

To find the perimeter here it may get a little bit complicated.

Lets get into it...

We know the perimeter of Wyatt's room is a rectangle and has a perimeter of 40 feet.

So whatever we do must equal 40 in the end.

They tell us that the width of the room is 8 feet so lets do 8x2 which is 16

since we are trying to find the length we dont need the width right now so lets do 40-16 which is 24.

Since the formula for the perimeter of a rectangle is 2(lxw) we got the width and the perimeter so all we need is the length.

Lets divide 24 by 2 which is 12

So the lenght is = 12.
