Josh made his school basketball team this year. He played 10 minutes in his first game, but he played twice that amount in each of the other games. Let y represent the total number of minutes Josh played in x games.

Which type of sequence does the situation represent?

Answer:

10, 20, 40, 80, 160, 320....

Explanation:

Josh played 10 minutes in first game.

In the second game he played 20 minutes.

In the third game he played 40 minutes and so on .

Therefore, the sequence 10, 20, 40, 80, 160, 320...

The above sequence is a geometric sequence.

In a Geometric Sequence each term is found by multiplying the previous term by a constant.

Here the constant ratio = 2 (The common ratio between terms is a doubling)

Thank you.
