The length of a rectangle is 5 m longer than it’s width. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 38 in, find it’s area.

= 5 +

2 + 2[5 + ] = 38 ↷

2 + 10 + 2 = 38

4 + 10 = 38

- 10 - 10

4 = 28

= 7 [plug this back into the top equation to get 12 units]
