To solve for x we apply quadratic formula

x^2 - 6x + 58 = 0

quadratic formula is

x= (-b+-√(b^2-4ac))/(2a)

From the given equation

a=1 , b=-6 and c= 58

Plug in all the values in the formula

x= (-(-6)+-√((-6)^2-4(1)(58)))/(2(1))

x= (6+-√(-196))/(2)

square root (-1) is 'i'

x= (6+-14i)/(2)

We will get two values for x

x= (6+14i)/(2)=3+7i

x= (6-14i)/(2)=3-7i

So x= 3+7i , x= 3-7i
