The answer is; earth’s rotation

The earth’s rotation causes a phenomenon called Coriolis effect. The lower latitudes spin at a relatively slower speed than the higher latitudes due to the globular nature of the planet. Therefore, wind and ocean currents are deflected more at the poles than the equoator.
