a+ 14 = ar

9a = ar²

we can simplify the third term to get r

9a = ar² . divide both sides by a

9= r²

thus we square root both sides to get

r = ± 3

thus our r is 3

we insert the value of r in the second term to get a

a + 14 = 3a

14 = 2a

a = 7
