"To a degree academic freedom is a reality today because Socrates practiced civil disobedience." what is the tone for this?

"Like a boil that can never be cured as long as it is covered up but must be opened with all its pus-flowing ugliness to the natural medicines of air and light, injustice must likewise be exposed, with all of the tension its exposing creates, to the light of human conscience and the air of national opinion before it can be cured." what is the tone and mood for this?

im sorry its only 10 points, Im just starting and I really need help :(

1) its educated yet opinionated

2) it has a tone of disgust toward injustice, comparing it to an oozing sore

and its mood is that of a call to action.

hope that helps!

There are many ways in which you could describe the tone and mood of these passages. The tone refers to the type of language and the words that the author uses. On the other hand, mood refers to the feelings that the reader feels when reading the text.

In the first case, the tone is a factual, admiring one. The mood is a grateful one. In the second case, the tone of the excerpt is one of indignation, but the mood is hopeful and inspiring.
