I believe the question is saying a discount of 15% because each item is 85% of usual price.

change percent to decimal and multiply by amount

.15 x 18=2.70 is the discount.

18.00-2.70=15.30 is the sale price

Answer: The sale price of the sweatshirt is $15.3.

Explanation:

Hi, to solve this problem we have to analyze the information given.

  • Price of sweatshirt: $18
  • Sale discount: 85% of the usual price. (0.85)

So, we have to multiply the original price by the percentage (in decimals) to obtain the sale price.

  • $18x 0.85 = $15.3

In conclusion, the sale price is $15.3.
