x=20

box your variable then under the 6 put +6 and cancel it out.

now what is the opposite of division? Multiplication. so times x/2 by 2 and then put (2) next to the 10. You are going to get 20 which is what x is.

6 - (x)/(2)= 10 Subtract 6 on both sides

6-(x)/(2)-6=10-6

-(x)/(2)= 4

Multiply -2 on both sides to get "x" by itself

-(x)/(2) (-2) = 4(-2)

x = -8
