despite their alliance, not like one another?

Before the American Revolution, British Government enforced several acts to mainly pay off debts from the French and Indian War. These acts restricted freedom and raised taxes, many unfair, uncalled for, and had no representation.

These acts include the Proclamation Act (1763), Sugar Act (1764), Stamp Act (1765), Quartering Act (1765), Townsend Acts (1767), Tea Act (1773), and the Coercive Acts or Intolerable Acts (1774)

These acts eventually lead to the American Revolution.
