Five chips numbered 1 through 5 are placed in a bag. A chip is drawn and replaced. Then a second chip is drawn. Find the probability that one chip is even AND the other is odd. (Hint: You can choose an even chip and then an odd chip, or an odd chip and then an even chip.)

The odds of drawing an even chip are
(2)/(5).

The odds of drawing an odd chip are
(3)/(5).

You multiply the two
(2)/(5) x  (3)/(5) =  (6)/(25).

Knowing you cannot simplify 6/25 any further, you now have your answer!

Hope this helps! <3
