You use the slope formula:

m =
(y_(2)-y_(1) )/(x_(2)-x_(1))

m is the slope. Plug in the points.

m =
(-7 - 3)/(4 - (-1))

m =
(-7 - 3)/(4+1)

m =
(-10)/(5)

m = -2
