The Y coordinates are the same, so I know I am going to find the distance between the X coordinates.

The ordered pairs are in the SAME quadrant. I know this because, ALL NUMBERS ARE POSITIVE.

Since they are in the SAME quadrant, I am going to SUBTRACT.

I must take the absolute value of each coordinate when I find the distance, since a distance can never be NEGATIVE.

WORK: 8-5=3

The distance between (8, 10) and (5, 10) is 13 units.
