The correct answer is C) removed restrictions on African Americans police officers.

Ivan Allen Jr. (1911-2003) was the Major of Atlanta form 1962 to 1970. He supported the civil rights of African American people. He removed the signs in the City Hall that said "colored" and "White." He sat with a black man in the cafeteria of the City Hall, ending Jim Crow practices. He also integrated city governments and fire departments. For his support of civil rights and respect for the African American people, he received the "Martin Luther King Jr. Nonviolent Peace Prize" in 1981.
