point slope form is
y-y_1=m(x-x_1) where the slope is
m and it passes through the point
(x_1,y_1)

given that the slope is -1/5 and it passes through the point (9,-7)

m=-1/5

x₁=9

y₁=-7

y-(-7)=(-1)/(5)(x-9)

y+7=(-1)/(5)(x-9)

that is the equation in point slope form

The equation of the line is y=mx+b

so now substitute:

-7=(-1/5)9+b

-7=-1 4/5+b

add -1 4/5 on both sides

5 1/5=b

so here's the final equation:

y= -1/5x+5 1/5

hope this helps!
