Solve for y in 5x - y = -11

y = 11 + 5x

Substitute y = 11 + 5x into y = 3x + 5

11 + 5x = 3x + 5

Solve for x in 11 + 5x = 3x + 5

x = -3

Substitute x = -3 into y = 11 + 5

y = -4

Thus,

x = -3

y = -4
