the room increases 0.5°F every minute

How?
in 10 minutes the room increased from 65° to 70°
that means in 5 minutes the room increased from 65° to 67.5°
that's a 2.5° increase and if you divide that by 5 your get how much it increases by 1 minute; which is 0.5°
