I know someone already answered this but they would be correct. This is how I think of it... if it does not have parentheses and it is a negative number and it has an exponent well then your answer will be negative but if you do have parentheses and your number is negative and it has an exponent well then your answer will be positive.

yes it is correct

with parentheses you have to bring EVERYTHING INSIDE THE PARENTHESES to the given power but not if there are no parentheses
