Hi there!

Answer:

A. x=4

Explanation:

subtract by 4 both sides of an equation.

-3x+4-4=-8-4

simplify.

-8-4=-12

-3x=-12

divide by -3 both sides of an equation.

-3x/-3=-12/-3

simplify.

-12/-3=4

12/3=4

12/4=3

4*3=12

3*4=12

x=4 and 4=x

Hope this helps!

Answer:

A) x = 4

Explanation:

Isolate the x. Note the equal sign, what you do to one side, you do to the other. Do the opposite of PEMDAS (Parenthesis, Exponents (& roots), Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction)

First, subtract 4 from both sides

-3x + 4 = -8

-3x + 4 (-4) = -8 (-4)

-3x = -8 - 4

-3x = -12

Isolate the x. Divide -3 from both sides

(-3x)/-3 = (-12)/-3

x = (-12)/(-3)

Divide. Note that when dividing 2 negative numbers, the answer would be a positive number

x = (-12)/(-3)

x = 4

A) x = 4 is your answer
