The sum of the angels of a triangle is alwase 180. So:

W + V+ S = 180
V = 46
S = 33

W + 46 + 33 = 180 use simple algebra
W = 101

Although the other way is simpler, this way is useful for other problems.

Answer:

x = 101°

y = 46°

Explanation:

The question tells us that ΔSTU is similar to ΔSVW. This means that the corresponding angles in each triangle are the same. We can write that like this:

∠UST = ∠WSV

∠SUT = ∠W

∠STU = ∠V

We can then fill in the angles we know into these statements.

33° = 33°

101° = x

y = 46°

Now we know the values of x and y.

x = 101°

y = 46°
