Well you know that you have to balance out the equation to 0. So if I is -1 and Ca is +2 you know that I had to equal to -2. So you can do that by having two of them. So Ca=+2 and I2=-2 so CaI2 would equal 0 meaning that would be the correct answer. Hope that I explained that correct :)

Answer:

The option number 1 and 6 are correct answer.

Which is the formula of ionic compound composed of Calcium and Iodide ions is CaI2.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • As we know a balanced ionic compound has net charge zero.
  • So if the calcium ions have +2 charge so there will be 2 ions of iodine charges of -1 making total charge of iodine -2.
  • Hence -2 and +2 will cancel each other making a balanced ionic compound.
  • Which has formula CaI2.
