Answer:

(1, 7.5)

Explanation:

As we go from A to B, x increases by 10. Half that is 5. Adding 5 to the x-coordinate of A, we get the x-coordinate of the midpoint: it's 1.

Alternatively, find the mean of the x-coordinates of A and B: (-4+6)/2 = 1

As we go from A to B, y decreases by 1. Half of that is 1/2. Subtract 1/2 from the y-coordinate of A: 8 - 1/2 = 7 1/2.

Thus, the midpoint is (1, 7.5).

Answer:

1,7.5

Explanation:

use the equation (x(1) + x(2) ) /2, (y (1) + y (2) ) /2

x(1) is x sub one or -4 since it is the first x value we are given

x(2) is x sub two or 6 since its the second x value we are given

-4+6=2

2 divided by 2 is one

y(1) is y sub one or 8 since it's the first y value we are given

y(2) is y sub two or 7 since it's the second y value we are given

8+7=15

15/2 is 7.5

this gives you x,y or 1,7.5
